MANY
THANKS
for last week’s Offertory £722-81(attendance
356). Church Maintenance Fund £13-15 (total
£434-54) |
GIFT
AID SCHEME
New sets of Gift Aid envelopes will be available
for collection from the Presbytery after all Masses
this weekend 12/13 May. It is most important
that all in the Gift Aid scheme go very briefly
into the presbytery front room after Mass for a
few moments to collect the new envelopes. Any parishioners,
who are taxpayers and have not previously done so,
are invited to sign a simple Gift Aid Declaration
Form. This will enable your parish to get back an
additional 25p for every pound you put into the
offertory collection at no expense at all to yourself.
Many thanks to Robert Claridge our Gift Aid
organiser who works so hard for us all. |
FATHER
NESBITT
Last week’s farewell party for Fr Nesbitt
was an occasion to pay tribute to his long, stalwart
and productive ministry in Folkestone and to celebrate
the many good and happy memories that he leaves
with us. Many thanks to everyone – especially
to the UCM! - who made sure that it was such a memorable
lunch! We have all got very good reason to be grateful
to Fr Roger Nesbitt for what he has stood up for,
achieved, and inspired over the last twenty-eight
years. Once again, we wish him God’s blessing
as he embarks upon a new phase of priestly ministry.
He will not be far away, and after a while will
be playing a part in the life of this marvellous
parish of Our Lady, Help of Christians. |
CONFIRMATION
CLASSES
Confirmation classes continue, now on Monday
evenings at 6.45pm: the second class is
tomorrow, Monday, May 14th, in the Parish Hall |
FATHER
ROLPH
If it's publicly known that he needs our prayers
should we put Fr Peter Rolph in our prayer list,
or even say “Please pray for Fr Peter Rolph
this week.” |
FR
ROGER NESBITT WRITES
Thank you for coming along to the “retirement
party” last Sunday. It was great to see you
all. I will continue to pray for you and to thank
God for your kindness, friendship and help to me
over nearly 28 years in the parish. Thank you for
your very generous gift and for the many cards and
other gifts. Especial thanks for the beautiful cards
and gifts from the Stella Maris School children
and staff. You have been a great support over so
many years. I am sure that the Parish will continue
to give its full encouragement to the School and
the teachers. |

DEACON
ALAN BURGESS
has written to say that he will be ordained priest
at St George’s Cathedral, Southwark on Saturday
14 July at 12.30pm. After ordination he
will be appointed to St Thomas of Canterbury, Canterbury.
Congratulations to Alan and prayers for him in his
final preparation at the Beda College in Rome. I
am sure he will be down to say Mass after he has
moved to Canterbury. |
