FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONS
NEXT SUNDAY 5 JULY at 11am Mass.
This is an important parish event and time of grace when 27 of our children will be making their First Holy Communion. I would ask as many of you as possible to come along to the Mass to pray for our children and for their families. After Mass there will be a Communion breakfast and light refreshments in the Hall and Garden.
PRO-LIFE PETITION DAY
SPUC's Child Protection Petition Day is 4/5 July petitioning the Prime Minister is seeking to stop secondary schools being used as abortion referral centres. There are a number of concerns: (1) school nurses, and other advisers of schoolchildren, are being given a clear remit by the government to refer for abortions without informing parents (2) the government is insisting that information on how to get an abortion is included in sex education lessons, and (3) it wants to establish school-based sexual health clinics in secondary schools. Many schoolgirls will be persuaded to do something they could regret for ever. SPUC is aiming to gather half a million signatures and bring pressure to bear on the Government to reverse its policy. Please add your name to the petition at the back of the church and help stop this unjust attack on the rights of schoolchildren, families and the unborn.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION PRACTICE
There will be a Practice for the First Holy Communion Mass with the children on Tuesday 30 June at 10am starting in the Hall.
